Grant description and purpose. Note to evaluator: this may be copied from the grant agreement or RFP. A veteran's service office grant program is established to be administered by the commissioner of veteran's affairs consisting of grants to counties to enable them to enhance the effectiveness of their veteran's service offices.

Each county is eligible to receive an annual grant for the following purposes:
(1) to provide outreach to the county's veterans.
(2) to assist in the reintegration of combat veterans into society;
(3) to collaborate with other social service agencies, educational institutions, and other community organizations for the purposes of enhancing services offered to veterans;
(4) to reduce homelessness among veterans; and
(5) to enhance the operations of the county veterans service office.
