Nutrition education curriculum

MDE received a FY22 USDA Team Nutrition grant and one of the deliverables was to create a nutrition education curriculum for elementary and secondary students. MDE staff created the content, but did not have the skillset or tools to make them into videos and design a corresponding Educator Guide. We needed to hire an experienced contractor to create the videos and Educator Guides.

Nighthawk had a very quick response time and great at keeping us updated on every step of the project. We were given a timeline at the beginning of the project. There were minor adjustments along the way, but Nighthawk provided several status updates and kept us well informed. They posted messages on Basecamp as a way to keep us updated.
We are happy with the quality of the videos and Educator Guide. We made requests for certain graphics and they were able to able to deliver what we requested. They provided high quality videos and documents.
Due to the request we had to complete the entire project in 3 months, we understood that it would put extra demand on the contractor to accomplish everything. The cost may have been higher as a result, because they had to pull in extra staff. Also, we were told that animated videos (versus videos that have interview clips or other content embedded) are quite labor intensive, which may have increased the cost as well.
Very satisfied with the contractor’s performance.
