ELC cooperative agreement
Yes
For this part of the ELC cooperative agreement (the Integrated Food Safety Centers of Excellence), CDC requires us to have an academic partner, and Dr. Hedberg fit that criteria. In addition, the proposed work required extensive expertise and very specialized knowledge in food safety/environmental health, and Dr. Hedberg is a national expert in this area and possesses the required expertise and knowledge. He was the only academician in Minnesota with the expertise and knowledge necessary to conduct the work.
