Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: MDE’s Project AWARE grant named Youth Mental Health First Aid as an evidence-based mental health promotion training within its federally approved grant activities. Using this federal funding, MDE entered into a contract with the sole proprietor (National Council on Behavioral Health) of Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor training in order to increase the number of certified instructors within the state and, thus, increase access to this evidence-based training statewide.
