Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The results of the work will be used to provide construction drawings for an unbonded concrete overlay project, and include
project management, final roadway design, final hydraulic design, traffic control and staging, Level 1 TMP, sign replacement,
pavement marking, utility coordination, environmental documentation, environmental permitting support, lighting design,
special provisions and construction cost estimates. District design staff does not have experience designing unbonded concrete
overlay projects or the level of traffic modeling required for this type of project, and the schedule doesnâ??t allow time for them
to learn as they go. The expertise of this consultant will allow for a more efficient plan development process.
