This is a land acquisition conducted by LAM. It is a acquisition of 10,694.75 acres from TPL. The project needed to be appraised so that a valuation is determined for the acres being purchased. State statute says that the DNR Commissioner needs to cause the lands to be appraised to determine the estimated market value. This expenditure is the appraisal fee.

The appraiser was very punctual and communicated regularly with the Appraisal Unit. The appraiser always keep his progress on schedule without any delays.
The appraiser delivers some of the highest quality work that we have coming into the Appraisal Unit. Especially with very large projects like the Natural Heritage Forest. This appraisal consisted of a 10,694.75-acre acquisition.
The contractor's cost is considered reasonable due to the amount of acreage and the complexity of the subject property.
The contractor has completed a number of these large, complex appraisal reports and consistently delivers a high-quality report. The appraisal report was technically reviewed by the DNR Appraisal Management Unit reviewer and was commended for the quality of the report.
