In May 2023 a data incident occurred with Maximus where a financial file was breached which impacted 490,000 individuals across the county. Revenue, MDHS and Maximus worked together to handle the breach, disclosure of individuals data, and appropriately reported to the agencies and state Government. Notification went out to the impacted individuals and technical fixes were implemented to prevent any future data breaches.
