The state had philanthropic funds to conduct activities related to early childhood finances and governance. For two activities within the grant the state contracted with Wilder Research for their analysis skills, capacity and relationships. Wilder supported the state in conducting an analysis on temporary pandemic funding to support early care and education programs and its impact as well as, separately, funding to support Ojibwe language revitalization.

In applying for the Early Childhood Governance and Financing Project philanthropic funding, the state was requested to name partners for the project. As requested, we named Wilder Research to design and implement an evaluation on the impact of federal investments in early childhood, capture prototype learnings from projects with Tribal Nation partners, and create a final report using Indigenous evaluation methods.
