Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The MDA needed a limited analytical method for measuring cyanazine, atrazine and some of their associated degradates in groundwater samples collected from drinking water wells and possibly finished (chlorinated) water. Recent analysis through liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) identified the presence of deethylcyanazine acid and other cyanazine degradates in water samples collected from drinking water wells in Minnesota.
