Design for:
Bloomington Armory:
Renovate the Building Sign: The existing freestanding building sign is in need of refurbishing. In addition, the lighted manual reader portion of the sign will be replaced with a new electronic programmable reader board that will meet city ordinances.
Renovation of the Kitchen: The existing kitchen needs to be re-designed to accommodate new coolers, freezers and a convection oven (supplied by owner and installed by contractor). The new coolers and freezers will be freestanding units and NOT built-in into the walls or structure. Modifications to the range hood along with utility connections and new fire suppression system may be required. With this renovation, we anticipate the kitchen will not become larger than its current size, but it is possible that walls within that space may be modified to accommodate the new kitchen equipment and/or layout.
Cottage Grove Armory:
Unit Storage Area Upgrades: In the present unit storage area an old bullet trap will be cleaned and removed under a separate contract by the Owner. After the cleanup, new caging and 3 pairs of exterior doors will be installed to create separate storage areas. Lighting and power modifications may be required for the new caged configurations.
New Double Doors: One pair of existing double doors/hardware between the lobby and hallway will be removed and replaced. The replacement doors/frame shall include a removable mullion. In addition, a new set of double doors/hardware, including removable mullion, will be installed in the wall between the gym and lobby.
Renovate approximately 10,000 SF of the Building: A former renter of a portion of the building has moved out of the building, requiring approximately 10,000 SF of the existing building be renovated into new administrative offices, classrooms, storage areas and locker rooms.
Dumpster Enclosure: Provide an enclosure for dumpster, meeting the City ordinance.
Exterior Washrack: The existing exterior vehicle washrack concrete slab and drain will be eliminated. A new re-contoured concrete slab will replace the removed slab.
Replace the N30 Controllers of the Direct Digital Control System: The building contains two N30 Johnson Controls controllers. These will be replaced with one NAE controller. Changing out the two N30 controllers with one NAE controller shall include all programming and transfer of existing date. Work shall also include the replacement of controllers on approximately 9 or 10 cabinet unit heaters (by Trane) with ones that will interface with the new upgraded building management system (BMS).
Minneapolis Armory:
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, High Yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force (CERFP) Modification: At existing room number 95, install a 10 foot X 10 foot overhead door with operator between the room and exterior storage compound. Install a new indoor air heating/cooling system with automatic controls for this room, which will contain medical supplies/drugs.
Backup Electrical Generator and Transfer Switch: Design for a backup electric generator (approx 225 KW) (to be purchase by the Owner for installation by the Contractor) complete with automatic transfer switches, concrete pad and screening fences. The generator is to have internal fuel oil tank sized to provide a minimum 24 hours operation at full load. Generator installation is to include a remote monitoring panel located in the building.
New Light Fixtures: Provide new energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures in the drill hall area and exterior security lighting..
Duel Fuel Energy: Provide exterior above ground fuel oil tank(s) and piping to the existing duel fuel natural gas/fuel oil burners on the existing boilers.
