Vibrating Wire and Horizontal Clip Data Analysis
89261 WO 1
MnROAD has amassed a large database comprising various measurements that are valuable for pavement studies in cold climates. This project will increase the usability and value of the database by analyzing and summarizing the data, detecting the flagging outliers and erroneous data and automating the validation and uploading of new data. In particular, the project will enhance the peak picking and program originally developed by the University of Minnesota by incorporating several additional features, including the ability to handle more vehicle types, additional file formats and improved manual capabilities and peak picking accuracy. The project will also analyze the vibrating wire and horizontal clip data in the MnROAD database, detect and flag anomalies and outliers, uncover data trends, summarize the data in easy to read formats and develop new data validation and uploading software. The project will increase the productivity of pavement researchers and the efficiency of the MnROAD staff that identified the problem and worked with the PI on developing a solution.

Early in the project, the contractor was very actively involved and delivered products on time. Due to the departure of the contractor to another University, the final two tasks were not completed in a timely fashion.

The quality of the work by the contractor was excellent.
The cost was reasonable for the amount of effort expended.
All of the technically related work was excellent. Project management by the contractor was very good initially, however after his move to another University, became problematic. Several products promised by a certain dates were not delivered, and this occurred multiple times.
Yes
I would not use the principal investigator again.
