Toward Zero Deaths Administration and Outreach
99008W030
In 2001, the North Star Safety Workshop brought together transportation safety stakeholders representing local, regional, state, national and international organizations and agencies to share information and to identify new approaches to reducing the number of fatalities and life changing injuries on Minnesota's roads. Since its inception in 2003, the Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) program has requested support from the University’s Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) to provide administrative support, coordination and outreach activities.

The objective of this project was to continue providing administrative support and coordination to the TZD program. In addition, CTS provided outreach and communications support for the program.

This contract was necessary to advance the objectives of the Toward Zero Deaths initiative and continue the efforts of MnDOT and Public Safety to create a safe highway infrastructure.
