Investigation of Pedestrian/Bicyclist Risk in Minn
89261w194
We have two goals in this research. First understand how the different factors affect pedestrian crossings
on roundabouts in order to produce a series of guidelines assisting engineers and planners in the decision
and design of future roundabouts as well as offering insights on optimal solution to problems verified in
Existing ones. Second, we will deliver a video-based data collection and reduction method, similar to
traditional conflict analysis, which can be used to identify and classify unsafe interactions between
vehicles and pedestrians and/or bicycles in roundabouts.

There was a delay that resulted in the contract extension this happened near the time that I took over the project from the previous project manager. I do not have a lot of history as to why.
The end report was submitted with the last two tasks of the contract so they were evaluated as whole and not individually.
A lot of data was gathered and analyzed through this contract. This would have been very time consuming. Since I do not know the actual hours that went into this study I do not have a basis on which to evaluate the cost.
Since I was brought into this project after a substantial portion of the work was done. I cannot evaluate the overall performance. Based on my involvement in the project I believe the contractor performed well, met the goal of the contract and provided data that is useful in helping understand the challenges of pedestrians in roundabouts.
