The Joyce Foundation Shifting Gears initiative, a national effort to create system change through workforce development, Adult Basic Education, and postsecondary systems in order to produce better results for low-wage, low-skilled adults. During the third Joyce Foundation funding cycle, Minnesota FastTRAC is required to build in costs to cover collaborative work with Greater Twin Cities United Way (GTCUW) for the Skills @ Work campaign with Joyce grant and Governor Workforce Development Council (GWDC) funds.

The Skills @ Work campaign a statewide campaign to ensure Minnesota has the skilled workforce it needs to compete in the global economy. The campaign builds on the assets and best practices of seven Minnesota regions, aligning new and existing efforts into a statewide campaign. By creating a coherent vision for addressing skills gaps around Minnesota, we are building momentum toward policy change and uniting Minnesotans to close the skills gap.

Greater Twin Cities United Way is a critical partner in moving forward the FastTRAC initiative. The GTCUW has expertise in understanding the FastTRAC initiative, partnership structure and is an active partner in the Skills @ Work Campaign. The GTCUW has been designated by the GWDC as the co-leader in this effort.
