2012 Omnibus Study
1927
State’s annual Omnibus Survey has been providing department leadership, managers and program staff with public feedback on State’s core operations for over a decade. The public’s preferences, priorities and concerns, as reflected in the survey, help to inform department strategies; resource allocation; and communication, outreach, and education efforts. The results of the Omnibus survey are used by State management and staff throughout the department to assess the public’s perceptions of State’s effectiveness overall as well as performance in key service areas, such as maintenance, safety, infrastructure reliability and convenience, etc. In addition, offices and programs responsible for certain initiatives, such as Toward Zero Deaths, and traffic management tools, such as Zipper Merging, will use survey feedback to inform education campaigns and develop tools to further department objectives. In addition, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety will use some of the information collected, such as on speeding and cell phone behaviors, to inform their education and enforcement practices, as has been done for previous iterations of this survey.
