Buffalo-Red Watershed Integrated Watershed Monitor
CR2358
The Buffalo River watershed has been selected as a pilot watershed by the MPCA to demonstrate how to manage Minnesota’s waters based on an integrated watershed approach. The pilot includes development and completion of a multi-parameter, watershed wide TMDL, along with development of protocols for future comprehensive watershed TMDL projects within the Red River Basin and throughout Minnesota.
With this consideration in mind, this proposed Buffalo-Red Surface Water Assessment Grant will be coordinated with several other water quality monitoring initiatives currently in place or planned for monitoring of the Buffalo-Red watershed over the 2009-2010 sampling seasons to maximize efficiencies by coordinating resources and sharing data. The Buffalo-Red RiverWatershed District (BRRWD) will be the project sponsor and coordinator. There are two efforts that are being addressed by this Surface Water Assessment Grant which MPCA has assigned Work Plan Nos. 20 and 21 to as described in the following.

Satisfactory - Communication between grantee and sub contractor was not good. Response time getting back to the project manager was not good either. Overall, this grant was loosely managed by the grantee causing some issues. However, the data seemed to be collected through out the grant.
