Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: MnDOT's Site Development Unit (SDU) provides statewide management for the Safety Rest Area and State Entry Sign programs. Attrition has resulted in a staff shortage. Current staff is unable to deliver both program management and project delivery services in the next year for both programs. Support is needed in the area of program management and policy development. Immediate staff shortage requires hiring key personnel that have high level technical trainging in the specific work type, knowledge of MnDOT policies and standards, and experience specific to these programs.
