The contract was made in the purview of the transportation pooled fund project TPF 5-(134) Pavement surface characteristics (MnROAD Studies) Rehabilitation of Concrete Pavements. The study had Texas DOT, FHWA and MnDOT as participating states. MnDOT as lead state was empowered to do contracts with selected consultants to accomplish the required tasks within the pooled fund study. This contract was set up with Professor Jim Wilde of Mankato State University as Principal Investigator to analyze the data collected in this study. This study was initiated to examine various configurations of diamond grinding at the MnROAD faculty and in the network and examine them for friction, noise, texture and ride quality. This contract therefore performed analysis of Noise, texture, ride and friction data in the various diamond grinding configurations while striving for a safe, quiet and durable configuration.
