ECHO will secure a regional primary and secondary distribution contact for five agencies in each of the eight LHD regions willing to “information share” in different languages supporting public health information (print, media and outreach resources). Distribution contact agencies may include: Local public health departments, major LEP agencies, hospitals, libraries, human service agencies, schools (ESL), etc. A signed informal agreement maintains the partnership information sharing record. A list-serve will be developed, tested, and transferred to an agency charged with annual updates.

This project was necessary to assist MDH in achieving PHEP capabilities required by CDC funding.

ECHO is the only organization in Minnesota that has demonstrated the ability to efficiently and effectively write, translate, adapt for cultural context, develop, distribute, and promote educational materials for the 13 largest diverse cultures in the state. Through this work, ECHO has developed inroads into these communities. They have built a level of trust that is instrumental in identifying and recruiting liaisons that can bring messages into these communities and share identified concerns and barriers with the MDH and Local Health Departments (LHDs).

During readiness planning and response, the MDH and LHDs have a role in communicating with the entire population, including those with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). ECHO is the only organization that is able to work across the state with the variety of cultures represented in each region.

The timeline was condensed from the original plan, but ECHO was able to adapt to the shortened timeframe and prodice the intended product.
The contractor surpassed the goals set by the contract. Feedback from participants was positive.
The cost was fair for the work, the contractor used many of their existing contacts to provide the services needed.
The contractor was easy to work with, flexible and creative in acheiving the goal of the project in a much shorter timelline than originally anticipated.
