Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: MnDOT plans to reconstruct an approximate 12-mile corridor of TH 44 including 1 mile of TH 44 in Spring Grove. The proposed TH 44 construction activities are anticipated to include: 12 miles of road resurfacing, four culvert replacements, and 1-mile of utility replacement. The purpose of this contract was to complete a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Drilling Investigation based on the results of the Phase I focusing on identified suspect areas. This information was used by MnDOT to determine final project design plans / specifications and to obtain liability protections.
