The Contractor consistently performed work in a timely manner. Further the Contractor helped facilitate schedule adjustments required by the State, including but not limited to the shutdown,
The quality MacDonald and Mack provided was very high, in product, technical ability, professional conduct, as team members, public interface, inter agency interface and thoughtfulness. That 12 sites were restored within budget, scope, and prior to the funding expiration and despite additional work due to site conditions that were not in the original scope but required addressing during this work (ie replacing storm sewers at two sites, improving ADA access, state shut down) with very little supplemental agreements in the construction phase is a testament to the high quality provided.
The Contractor’s billable rate was standard but the value received was very high. They worked within budget and managed the work in a manner that allowed the project to be fully executed with no requests for additional funding other than that to address scope changes driven by site conditions (ie leaking storm sewers), or design direction (ADA accommodation) not able to be known at the time of the proposal or the initial site assessment phase.
MacDonald and Mack performed was excellent. They are credible, professional, and personable historic architects that are respected by the public, project partner agencies, internal MnDOT staff, contractors and sub-consultants for the consistently excellent work they provided and the quality manner in which it was provided over five years’ time.
