Geoarchaeological Investigations along TH 101
2166
State has proposed to replace the Trunk Highway (TH) 101 Bridge, where it crosses the Minnesota River, from Shakopee, on the south side of the valley in Scott County, to Highway 212/169, on the north side of the valley in Carver County. The proposed Area of Potential effect (APE) crosses: 1) an alluvial fan at the northern valley margin; 2) a large wetland basin in the center of the valley; and 3) the floodplain and main channel at the southern margin of the valley. All of these landforms have potential for deeply buried archaeological sites.
