Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Contractor will provide design assistance and plan review for Bridge No. 5718 over the Kettle River in Sandstone, Pine County. For this project, Contractor will assist State with the development of plans for the bridge rehabilitation. Contractor will review the proposed project plans for compliance with the “Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties,” attend meetings with State’s design team during the design phase to provide guidance in meeting the standards, assist the design team with drafting the special conditions section of the bid letting documents, attend on-site meetings during construction to review material samples and mock ups and overall compliance with the Standards, and prepare an update to the Historic Bridge Management Plan for Bridge No. 5178.
