Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: To classify currently forested sites on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) in northwestern Minnesota to Native Plant Communities (NPCs). These classifications along with the associated ecological information collected through this project will be used to determine the future management direction of forested stands as the Aspen Parkland's (AP) Subsection Forest Resource Management Plan (SFRMP) is implemented. No state employees were able and available to complete this work due to other time commitments and work priorities.

Evaluate the contractor's timeliness Completed the project on time and efficiently and engaged in some pre field season planning.

Evaluate the contractor's quality Contractor's were very good field botanists and recorded information accurately and completely. Submitted data in legible electronic formats as per contract.

Evaluate the contractor's cost Very good, contractor stated they bid too low/probably lost money and state costs to collect similar data with state employees run 2 to 4 times higher.

Evaluate the contractor's overall performance Very good to excellent, the only real issue was some delayed communication in the beginning of the field season.
