Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The purpose of this project was to provide contract administration and construction inspection services for a sign replacement construction project on T.H. 120 from I-94 to MN 244 in Ramsey County. To adhere to the MUTCD 1A.03 and MN MUTCD design feature requirements and the TEM 6-4.08.02 life cycle requirements for sign replacement. It also supported the Metro District in accomplishing the annual sign replacement performance measure. The construction project replaced signs because the signs are at, or near, the end of their useful life.

It was necessary to enter into a contract because personnel with the necessary expertise and specialized equipment are not available to provide this service when needed.
