Minnesota's Best Practices for Traffic Sign Mainte
5171
Previously, the Minnesota’s Best Practices for Traffic Sign Maintenance/Management Handbook in 2010 in order to provide city and county engineers and township officials with insight and suggested best practices to deal with new Federal Highway Administration guidelines regarding retro reflectivity and traffic sign maintenance. This Handbook was used in several training workshops supported by MnDOT, Minnesota LTAP and the Local Road Research Board that were attended by over 300 local agency staff. However, after completion of this Handbook FHWA revised their guidelines particularly as they relate to implementation dates and this has caused confusion because the widely circulated Handbook contains key information that is no longer correct. The primary objective of this effort is to correct the pages with erroneous information about implementation dates and to provide the Technical Advisory Panel the opportunity to suggest clarifications and additions to create an updated and technically correct for 2014.
