Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Most agencies have some sort of management tool (computerized system, database, spreadsheet, GIS, etc.) to help them manage their paved roadways and decide how to ¿do the right thing at the right time on the right road¿. Often these systems do not have the ability to measure, track or assist with the maintenance of gravel roads. The purpose of this study will be twofold:
 Determine, via a local survey, the needs of Minnesota local agencies with respect to gravel road management systems.
 Determine, via a national survey, what gravel road management systems have been developed and/or are being used.
