This project was a prototype statewide bike route (non-TH segments). It was amended multiple times to evolve to include additional work. It was tied closely to consultant contract 96355 (TH segments). In each case the consultant’s timeliness was average, sometimes above average.
As noted under “timeliness”, this contract was for a prototype bike route. All work was of average to above average quality. The only area where work was of below average quality was related to developing the sign plan. Stantec (originally Bonestroo) prepared 3 plan sets. The first plan set required changes to make it more readable and useful. The 2nd and 3rd sets included changes and were average to above average.
Average. This work was prototypical. Both MnDOT and the consultant learned of information/strategies that will allow for future project cost (and time) efficiencies.
Above average. Innovative, very cooperative, very good presence in public outreach, timely and clear communication with MnDOT. Overall, a very good experience and product.
