Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The purpose of this contract was to determine a preferred alternative for the I-494/I-35W interchange as well as select and generate an in-line bus rapid transit station preliminary layout between 82nd Street and American Boulevard in Bloomington.
Due to staff limitations, experienced personnel were unavailable to deliver this one-time project when needed. This was determined by contacting the various MnDOT functional groups that will be impacted by this project.
