COVID-19 Community Engagement
{Empty}
International Oromo Health Professionals Association (IOHPA) will engage with the Oromo community by providing one-on-one community education to community members by using trusted messengers. The trusted messengers will reach out to community members at faith-based community centers, local business centers, and other community gathering places. They will share timely information about COVID-19 vaccines, accessible testing, other COVID-19 and Monkeypox related messages, and vaccination sites. IOHPA will address vaccine hesitancy by providing evidence-based information on the COVID-19 vaccine, booster doses, and vaccine safety and efficacy for youth via social media and other culturally aligned platforms such as brochures and flyer distributions. IOHPA will support MDH in planning community engagement toward the Oromo community in Minnesota. Furthermore, IOHPA’s staff will build a COVID-19 community network platform. IOHPA will prepare monthly progress and all other required reports by the state.
