Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Minnesota African Women’s Association (MAWA) will reach a minimum of 360 unduplicated African women through various in-person sessions with Covid-19 and Monkeypox education addressing Covid -19 Vaccine needs and the booster shot issue. MAWA will reach the target group through African women’s social groups and associations in the Twin Cities, African College student associations, participants of MAWA’s afterschool program, at African malls, apartment buildings and churches/mosques with high numbers of African women through a combination of virtual and in-person sessions. Translators will be provided when necessary for French, Somali, West African Pidgin English, Oromo, Lingala, and Swahili. MAWA will conduct about 65 sessions (observing Covid safety guidelines) and produce a video by African women with messages for African women using a typical cultural approach for spreading health messages. The project will also include 2 Online Sessions and be largely disseminated through Facebook Live sessions and Facebook ads. MAWA will also promote and distribute COVID-19 testing kits.
