Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: West Central Environmental Consultants, Inc. (WCEC) is going to perform a subsurface investigation at the Stevens County Closed Landfill site to delineate the extent of groundwater contamination. This FY23 project is a continuation of the previous work done in FY22. One (1) monitoring well nest (two monitoring wells) will be installed. Following well installation and development, all existing monitoring wells, other site wells, and three private wells will be sampled in two sampling events. Groundwater samples will be analyzed for VOCs, PFAS compounds, 1-4 dioxane, RCRA metals, and other parameters. This project will involve a drilling subcontractor to be obtained by bid processes according to the purchasing manual. PFAS compounds will be analyzed by the state MDH lab. All other groundwater parameters will be analyzed by a state contracted laboratory.
