Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: DEED had identified a business need for a contract resource solutions architect who identified opportunities to improve DEED’s customer experience.

In order for DEED to fully realize its equitable mission to help the customers who need them the most, DEED needs to make engaging with DEED easy for their customers. DEED needs to ensure that their need to account for the services DEED is providing to customers doesn’t create barriers.

One of the ways DEED can simplify what they ask of their customers is through system integration. In order to do this effectively and in a way that reduces costs, DEED needs a plan.
The DEED Agency Sponsor of this initiative proposed to bring on a proven solutions architect with 15 years of experience in DEED’s systems.

Evaluate the contractor's timeliness Dave Schueck, our contractor, met his deadlines, communicated frequently, and completed his project in the time we had agreed upon.

Evaluate the contractor's quality The quality of Dave's work was very high. He demonstrated his deep knowledge of systems architecture and integration and his ability to communicate complicated messages in a clear and concise manner. He has given us a road map that is the backbone of the technology projects and updates we will be making for the next several years.

Evaluate the contractor's cost As contractors go, Dave's cost wasn't unreasonable, especially considering the quality of the work he produced.

Evaluate the contractor's overall performance I am so glad we contracted with Dave to evaluate DEED's key technology systems and make recommendations for how we can improve our customers experiences. He has extensive technical knowledge, but also has the relationship management and communication skills to make his knowledge consumable and relevant to his customers. I only wish we had the ability to contract with him again in the future. His positive impact at DEED is lasting. He planted a seed that is becoming a garden.
