Cultural resource surveys are a necessary part of compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The
work must be performed or overseen by an individual who meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications
Standards. MnDOT staff who meet these qualifications are unable to perform this work because of their regularly assigned
workload

The contractor was timely. The contract end date was extended due to other work being performed that might require additional work under this contract.
While I provided comments a few times, ultimately the deliverables were acceptable and met project needs.
The contractor over-estimated the cost needed for the project, using far less than anticipated. Hopefully this experience will set
them up for better budgeting in the future, but it also helped that we didn't have a lot of surprises along the way.
