The contractor was timely throughout the contract. Due to delays in completing projects under the grant related to the COVID-19 pandemic (difficult in securing meetings, staff capacity at grantee agencies directed toward emergent needs) we needed to seek a one-year no cost extension for the grant. The contractor, along with other contractors under the grant, agreed to a contract amendment extension to complete all work.
Dr. Lauren Martin is an exceptional researcher and expert in the field of sex trafficking and exploitation. She is a regular partner in many MDH projects in the Safe Harbor program and is a sought-after state and national expert. She provided invaluable insights and direction to MDH staff and partners throughout the project.
The contractor's cost was reasonable given her expertise; she used a portion of the cost to support the work of a co-researcher with expertise in indigenous evaluation research approaches to support evaluation of work by Tribal nations participating in the grant.
All partners agreed that Dr. Martin provided significant insights and expertise. She was responsive to all requests by MDH staff and supported her work, as well as the work of her subcontractor, with responsibility for the needs of the grant. We frequently partner with Dr. Martin, and she consistently provides high-value support to our work.
