Bridge 09823 Repair, Redeck, & Repaint Design
1047268
The re-deck of this bridge provides approximately an additional 50 years to the life of the bridge which is on an existing curve. In order to reduce crashes and continue toward zero deaths it is recommended that the bridge has a reliable, functioning anti-icing system to prevent motor vehicle crashes and fatalities. The anti-icing system hardware and software on this bridge are a unique, one-of-a-kind design that is not used anywhere else in MnDOT. The system is old, out of date and needs to be upgraded to bring it up to modern standards so that it can reliably preform. This includes new spray nozzles, plumbing, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), sensors, new Remote Processing Unit (RPU), and network connection to tie the anti-icing unit into the Road Weather Information System (RWIS) for automation and remote use.
