Emory University (DTTAC) will work with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to refine survey instruments for National DPP lifestyle coaches, coordinators, and participants in Minnesota. The survey results will guide Emory University (DTTAC) and MDH in identifying lifestyle coach training gaps and will highlight coach competencies that need strengthening. Emory University (DTTAC) and MDH will also use survey data to collaborate on and develop a tailored training program for lifestyle coaches. MDH will support lifestyle coaches working at CDC-recognized lifestyle change programs by providing scholarships to Emory University’s (DTTAC) monthly advanced training webinars. In later years of the grant, MDH will partner with training entities, such as Emory University (DTTAC), to develop and implement a long-term plan for providing advanced trainings that strengthen skills needed to engage and retain participants in the National DPP.
