District TAMS Update
1052905
Having an accurate and complete database of hydraulic assets is in line with the agency's TAMP and will have many benefits to
managing the district's assets and planning its construction program. This project was intended to query historic records and
enter or update our database accordingly. There was not enough district staff to complete the work so we elected to contract
the work out.

Consultant communicated in a timely manner. Work pace was slower than anticipated. Some of this was due this being a new
type of work, therefore a learning experience for both consultant and MnDOT. However, some of this was due to inexperienced
staff having a slower rate.
Overall the data entered into TAMS by the consultant is inconsistent enough that it is unreliable. MnDOT staff will be reviewing
each roadway section in detail and correcting before being able to use the data.
The amount of hours put into the contract for the work was an estimate on both the consultant and MnDOT's part as there has
not been similar contracts done to compare to. The work took much longer than anticipated, therefore much less of the district's area was completed.
